Slipshod Research and Mining Code of Conduct

From Slipshod Research and Mining Wiki

BEHAVIOR SRM has a long standing tradition of being well respected by the Allegiance community. This tradition WILL continue throughout the life of SRM at all costs. Any flaming of SRM shall only be responded to by a command staff individual.

It is expected that all SRM individuals be mindful that they are representatives of the squad at all times in game or anywhere where the SRM name can be seen. This includes:

  • Squad matches
  • Pick up games
  • Public message boards
  • Private message boards
  • LAN parties
  • Interviews in print, radio, or television
  • Other off-line events

SELF CONTROL If you feel the need to vent, which is an understandable occurance, post the action in the private members-only message board. Additionally, It is often best to observe A 10-minute rule before replying to an inflamitory post by another non-SRM person.

IN-GAME DISCRIMINATION SRM will not discriminate in game based on player ranking, and will strive to be of benefit to the community and an example to others at all times. SRM will evaluate all applicants regardless of skill level.

TRASH-TALK SRM will not respond to "squad baiting" or trash-talk with more of the same. Trash-talk, unless done in good humor, will not be tolerated and is in violation of the SRM code of conduct.

SQUAD MATCH CHALLANGES Only senior members of the SRM command staff (or designated members) are allowed to accept or make challanges with other squads.

POSITIONS Occasionally there will be positions available for additional duties within the squad. These can be applied for, or they can be designated tasks. This is entirely up to the command staff and no member should feel slighted in any way. Accepting such a position may or may not entitle the successful applicant to become a member of the command staff, however command staff positions will be noted in the offer/request for application.

PROMOTIONS SRM has an internal ranking system. This ranking system is important within the squad for various reasons. Once a new rank is achieved, there will be an official public notice. A command staff rank will only be reached by mandate of the current command staff. Promotions are always earned, however they should not be asked for and, will never be given to individuals demanding one.

STRUCTURE In Allegiance, the current command chain includes a Commander in Chief (for which a humorous title will sometimes be used) and the Command staff. Appointments to the Command staff, or SRM as a whole will be made by the Commander in Chief, or by consensus of the Command staff with regards to the different situations occur.

The command staff and the CIC each control 50% of the decision making process for items for which a vote is required. in most cases the Commander in Chief will not vote unless there is a strong feeling one way or another.

RANKING SYSTEM SRM ranks are based off of the United States Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps. The ranks are as follows: 2nd Lieutenant 1st Lieutenant Captain Major Lieutenant Colonel Colonel Brigadier General Major General Lieutenant General General General of the Army (This rank is reserved for past and present Squad Leaders of SRM)
